You need to put some lube on the elbow for it to really work.

Unless you've lost your key blade and the inside of your old key fob, this is a very valuable purchase with one caveat. You'll need to file the top of the blade to fit the case that screws into the case and then take a rubber mallet to pound the case around the top of the key as it's still extremely tight. That's good because it means the key doesn't go anywhere when you turn it in the ignition. My case also didn't close completely even when I screwed it in as tight as I could without removing the screw, so you may have to cut some of the plastic around the key to get a perfect fit. Otherwise it works and the car starts normally. Just like everyone else, the Lexus logo is sealed with black tape. So don't be alarmed if you receive it in the mail and there is no logo. Just peel off the tape. For $11 it's better than going to the dealer and spending hundreds on a new key, but it takes a little effort to make it work. EDIT 2 months later: After 2 months, the gold trim on the Lexus logo has worn off and turned silver. The key is still in great condition. April 2021: The key still works and shows no signs of tampering. I believe that removing the back cover of the key fob battery compartment allows it to fit better inside the case and completely encloses it. Put a few sheets of paper behind the battery to make sure it doesn't move when you press the buttons.

Pros
  • You will need to cut this new key blade, take the uncut blank key blade to a locksmith or dealer to have it cut to fit your vehicle.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
