Review on πŸ”Œ Edelbrock 1791 Electric Fuel Pump, Quiet-Flow Series, Black by Jordan Rini

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good! - Electric Fuel Pumps

This Edelbrock fuel pump replaced the Holley Blue electric pump which sucked right out of the box - too noisy and soon started leaking. Installation went smoothly with 3/8 NPT to -6 on fittings and fuel lines, no leaks and you can't find anything easier than a 2 wire connection. I do however hook it up to an oil safety switch very soon but wanted to try it first, the fuel economy at 6.5psi was ideal for my 670 Hollet Street Avenger on a modest 350SBC with 10:1 compression and a CompCams Magnum 280 at .480 hub. Those fuel pumps really should feed the engine with a filter at the front, ideally in front of it, but I just don't see the spot, but will appreciate again if I can get access to the lift. This pump wasn't cheap but I think if it lasts I'll be happy - it should last as the car rarely drives much and only in good weather. In terms of volume, I'd give it a 5/10 (loudest) and Holley Blue a 9/10. I can live with the noise of this Edelbock block and the rubber isolator was almost 2 times thicker than the Holley. I will try to provide updates on durability every 6 months and revise my rating accordingly. I'm currently giving it 4/5 stars simply because it was expensive and untested in terms of durability - there is so little relevant information on this pump that I'm a bit worried too. I think we'll see!
