Review on Enhanced Bad Elf GPS Pro+ for Improved Searchability by Joseph Reed

Works as needed without Apple products

I was looking for a replacement GPS recorder while traveling. I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the software used to download and convert PC data on devices I've used before. This product works great, using a USB flash drive interface to access GPS data that is already in GPX format. I actually use it with a Chrome OS tablet. There are ways to manipulate files on the device to perform any functions I need. There is a way to change the device settings through the Bad Elf website to make changes to the data file which can then be put back on the device. I rarely have to do this, so internet access isn't a big deal for me. It looks like I could edit the settings file manually if I really needed to. Deleting old recorded data is also possible by moving the data file corresponding to the GPX protocol from one directory to another. It's not as easy and clean as a software package to do everything, but it's nice that I don't have to rely on someone to maintain the PC software package. I don't swap out these devices very often, so it's good to have confidence in the future. However, there is a small caveat. If you wait too long to download GPX data from a device, it will not have enough internal memory to create GPX files from its internal format. I just reset my data daily and then deleted it. By doing this on a daily basis, I was also able to set a fairly high sampling rate. Additionally, many of these features required browsing the Bad Elf website or emailing support. I received answers to my questions very quickly.
