Throw away your Garmin GLO, use BAD-elf

. Simple and update Without hassle with connecting, the position is always there for all applications, and Bluetooth automatically connects to every time both paired iPads. This device replaced the Garmin GLO which NEVER stayed connected. Two years of struggling with the Garmin GLO gave way to thoughtless and flawless simplicity. A product that is much better. We have been for 3 months with perfect performance. I set it up, enabled the auto on/off features and it's been working fine ever since.

Airplane pilots hate Bad Elf GPS

I bought this Bad Elf and had to return it due to a bad battery. Then I bought a new one and after 4 months the GPS screen went black and doesn't work at all! Because I've had it for months. Bad Elf says you're out of luck, buddy! Don't offer any help or even ideas on how to fix this. I am an airline pilot and am very grateful that this was an additional and optional piece of equipment as it is very unreliable. Trust me when I say it's a waste of money. Airmen keep asking me at air shows, where

Power limitation in the cockpit of the Airbus A-330.

I don't like Apple products because of Apple's ridiculous limitations, but I need to use my iPad to access my company's navigation suite. The iPad Pro has a built-in GPS receiver, but it is very insensitive and cannot be used in flight. I bought a Bad Elf GPS Pro+ to get around this problem. The A-330 (like many jet aircraft) has a heated windshield with a metal foil that significantly weakens the GPS signal. Unfortunately, the Bad Elf receiver appears to be only slightly more sensitive than…

If you have a problem with the lack of satellites.

My Pro+ worked great for about a year then stopped tracking after going into tunnels on road trips and never recovered. With the latest firmware 2.1.50 it turned on outdoors and didn't find any satellites for about an hour and then magically reappeared. What worked for me was downloading an older firmware. My machine came with 2.1.44, so I manually downloaded the next older firmware, 2.1.43, via USB. It's been reliable ever since, I just ignore the firmware update notification from the Bad Elf…

Works as needed without Apple products

I was looking for a replacement GPS recorder while traveling. I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the software used to download and convert PC data on devices I've used before. This product works great, using a USB flash drive interface to access GPS data that is already in GPX format. I actually use it with a Chrome OS tablet. There are ways to manipulate files on the device to perform any functions I need. There is a way to change the device settings through the Bad Elf website to…

They don't call him "Bad Elf " for nothing.

. I bought this in December and have been using it for a few months with no problems; It quickly acquired the satellites and remained reliable throughout the 12-hour flight. Then he suddenly became unreliable. No matter where in the cockpit I placed it (or even from my hotel room), it failed to pick up satellites. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Every time I turn it on I never know what to expect. The other day it didn't work for more than 2 hours, then suddenly it worked for no particular…

Major issues will need to be addressed but are possible

I bought the Bad Elf Pro+ in March and have been using it for about 7 months. My goals were (1) the smallest device possible, (2) tracking my daily trips, and (3) pairing via Bluetooth with Android navigation apps. Another big plus was the (4) LCD display on the unit showing tracklog status, current position, etc. UPDATED SUMMARY: Scroll down for a summary of the pros and cons. This is a potentially great device with a lot of issues. Many of these are software related and I will be happy to…
