Review on Enhanced Bad Elf GPS Pro+ for Improved Searchability by Shane Black

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you have a problem with the lack of satellites.

My Pro+ worked great for about a year then stopped tracking after going into tunnels on road trips and never recovered. With the latest firmware 2.1.50 it turned on outdoors and didn't find any satellites for about an hour and then magically reappeared. What worked for me was downloading an older firmware. My machine came with 2.1.44, so I manually downloaded the next older firmware, 2.1.43, via USB. It's been reliable ever since, I just ignore the firmware update notification from the Bad Elf app. If I hold the bluetooth and gps button while turning it on, it will factory reset to 2.1.44 even after updating to the latest version. 2.1.50. I have no problems with satellites on either 44 or 50 but so far perfect on 43. Post this in case it helps anyone else. Edit: November 25th, 2019 I've been using BadElf extensively since going back to the old firmware in October and I can report that it worked great every time I turned it on. When driving through tunnels or other places where the GPS signal would be blocked, it immediately blocked again. Edit: June 14, 2020 BadElf ran like a champ with firmware 2.1.43, no complaints. I've updated to the new firmware BEGPS-2300-v2.1.52b0 and so far so good. If anything changes I will post an update. Edit: August 8, 2020 I tried the BEGPS-2300-v2.1.52b0 firmware and it was good for a while, but on my last long drive it stopped tracking after 30 minutes. in a tunnel, or for whatever reason, to lose sight of him. Back to 1/2/43.
