Bought this model to add some punch and drama to our very basic living room TV. We bought a basic Bose TV soundbar last Christmas, which is great for enhancing the sound coming straight off your TV, whether it's live or streaming. However, it lacked the nice, thundering bass sound you typically hear when watching movies or even TV shows. Unfortunately, just having a Bose soundbar means it's not compatible with any other standalone bass module other than Bose. It was the cheaper of the two models available from Bose that was compatible, so I made sure to pick that one. The price is quite high, and it's a little odd that the extra cable needed to connect the bass module to the soundbar isn't included (you can buy it separately for about $10), but once connected, it works great. It's basically plug and play, so you don't need to do any remote control or additional setup once you've connected it to the soundbar. I've noticed that the bass is barely noticeable on a TV show unless you really turn the volume up. I was looking for a way to fix this as we don't usually watch things at very high volume all the time and luckily I found the solution in the remote control that came with the Bose TV soundbar. There is a "Bass" button on the controller that allows you to increase the volume of just the bass without affecting the overall volume. Here's what I did, although I think there's a limit to how much you can increase it. This only seemed to allow three to four clicks from the default settings. Anyway so far so good and I recommend buying it if you need to expand your current Bose soundbar setup.
