This phone mount securely holds my 7 inch phone which is about 0.5 inch thick. In order to use the phone, you need to put several things together. Taking out the phone is even harder as the jaws dig into it. But that's because of its thickness. Thinner cases can be easier. especially on racing bikes, where pure spring mounts tend to fail due to high vibrations. will crack over time as I can see the seam between the two sides around the clamp screw. The whole knot is pretty light which is a plus. I've only used it once and will update as it performs over time.
