Great Canon printer!

So far so good with this printer. Although the Wi-Fi setup seemed overly complicated after launch, it's been working great ever since. Canon's instructions for physically setting up the printer were near perfect. However, they seemed to want to jump through hoops to get the Wi-Fi connection working. Maybe they were trying to make life easier for a newcomer to the network, but after three attempts to connect it my way, I gave up and just browsed through the menu, searched for the network, selected my network, gave its password one and I succeeded. walk. If it weren't for the clumsy attempt to make wireless setup easy, I would have given the printer 5 stars. Once the printer was connected to the network, finding it on any Mac, iPhone or iPad around the house was quick and easy. This printer supports Apple AirPrint and works great. The printer itself works great. The print quality, both in black and white and in colour, is excellent for a printer in this price range. I printed out some graphics for some technical notes I needed to write and using the "best" quality printout the graphics looked impressive. For plain text, the print speed is fast after the printer wakes up from sleep mode. The first sheet may take some time. As long as the printer is awake, further print jobs are processed quickly. Duplex printing also works quite well. I've also used the scanner a lot on my Mac with VueScan (the best scanning software, without exception!) and it works great too. VueScan immediately recognized the scanner and prepared to work with it. All in all, if you're looking for a 3-in-1 system and don't want to spend a lot of money, you won't go wrong with this one. model or one of the similar models in the Maxify range.
