Not shown to help with respiratory problems in cats

My cats loved this gel and looked forward to it as a treat. I started both kittens (one just over a year old, the other kitten 3 months old) on this lysine treatment as I had read that it was a possible beneficial remedy for feline respiratory problems (mainly the common cold, which is often inherited). becomes). ). from young cat to older cat what happened at my house). My vet also recommended lysine for me. HOWEVER, upon further research, I was dismayed to read some articles claiming that lysine supplementation is not only not proven to help cats who have respiratory problems (cough, runny nose, phlegm) particularly in cats, but most likely a hindrance presented to her recovery. . I immediately stopped giving the gel to both cats. They are fine now after bouts of that horrible cat flu for more than two months. I can't say that stopping lysine is the reason for her improvement, but I'm glad I stopped this treatment.

Pros
  • One teaspoon per day provides the vet recommended amount of lysine for cats; half teaspoon for kittens
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
