Review on Heavy Time by Dan Phillips

I like Heavy Time's approach to publishing work that is not easily accessible in mainstream culture. Their publication of 'The Last Days' by Jens Hoffmann was a great way to get his work out there. The heavy paper stock and the fact that it is printed in Germany gives the publication a weighty feel. The format is simple and easy to follow. There are some fantastic artists (and writers) featured in this magazine. The layout is also very clean and easy to navigate. It is a bit pricey for my taste but if you are looking for something different or want to support an independent publisher they have some really interesting stuff out there. I would say that Heavy Time is one of the more unique publishers out there. They are committed to supporting emerging artists and promoting new work in alternative spaces.
