Review on 🍳 Cuisinart Multiclad Pro MCP-12N Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set by Demetrius Holt

Not a 3 layer all clad but a very good alternative

2.5 year update: clads are used a lot and getting stronger. A small pan is used daily, not shiny but very good. All others still look new despite being used a lot! First review: I'm a serious cook and I take my pots seriously. I have All Clad pans at home that I have collected over the years and my mom had stainless steel Cuisinart pans that we often cook for her in. Cuisinart stainless steel pans just didn't work for me, so when another family member declared his love for them, I took that as an opportunity to upgrade them. I was hoping for a small all clad set but was choked on the price. These pans are great! They're not like the All Clad, but to be honest I have a hard time justifying $1,000 for the functional difference. I know they are made in China, I just had to give them up. I couldn't afford the difference. (If you want similar pans that aren't made in China, the Cuisinart French Chef Set is EU made and a good alternative.) On the other hand, the handles are very good, I wish my All Clad had the same nice ones. I also like the size of the pot. It's deeper than standard so I threw away fewer things. I made a large pot of steamed cabbage with cream sauce and nothing stuck or popped out. I was very happy with the balance of spiciness and non-burning in the sauce. On the negative side, if you can say that comparing the $240 pot set to the $1299 pan set is fair, the pans aren't as durable as the All Clad and aren't as easy to clean. For example, when I steamed rice, it came out of the pan as a nice "cake", but there was a hint of a rice pattern in the pan that needed cleaning. My All Clad could have been washed in the dishwasher. The lids are obviously not that strong, but they work. I think there will be a much smaller "Oops" error if you overheat the pan, but I don't know and I hope I never find out! If you are looking for a reasonably priced stainless steel or 3-ply cook set I would highly recommend this one.
