I bought this to help with my car repair project of restoring interior parts. A magnetic base is a good idea but not really useful as I understand there are almost no metal patches to stick to in car interiors (all leather and plastic). The light contains 3 batteries so is very heavy and keeps tipping over and I have to keep adjusting it. It's very bright and doesn't generate much heat, which is a big plus. It's also very light. The light lasts a long time, I've been working on the interior of the car for 2 days in a dark garage and it's still on after 8 hours. However, the brightness decreases after about the first hour and not at full brightness. I did 3 charges over 2 days to give you an idea of usage. I bought this light in addition to the LED from the iPhone. I didn't want to use incandescent bulbs as they add a lot of warmth to the already hot interiors I work in, or anything metallic or large as it might ruin my interior. I want it to be portable so I can move it around easily without worrying about an outlet. In the end, even if it is not suitable for car interior restoration, I find this flashlight very useful for mechanical car repairs (more metal in the engine compartment to attach it to) or other household purposes not needed. . require long daylight hours. This company's customer service is also fast, responsive and helpful, seems like a good company stands behind their products.
