I disassembled the headlight and found a broken wire. This had to be captured at the factory before shipping. There is no quality control. I'm an automotive technician and have tried several lights like this one. In general, I am satisfied with this device, with one exception: the magnet is very weak. You need a very hard, fairly flat metal surface to keep it in place. I bought two LED lights for personal projects, this one and a clip for a multi-mode work light with a red light and a small flashlight on the front. The other was complete junk and didn't meet my needs at all. However, this light is great for illuminating work at night or in dark rooms where there is metal nearby to attach it to. I've only had this lamp a month but it's excellent. I mounted it on the truck bed next to the tailgate as I have a roll up awning on my truck and I sometimes need a light in the truck bed. I bought this to help with my car repair project of restoring interior parts. A magnetic base is a good idea but not really useful as I understand there are almost no metal patches to stick to in car interiors (all leather and plastic).
