There is no true Goal Zero compatibility and the cable connection at the end of the output cable connector is broken.

I was looking for a portable plate for my backpack and it had to be a fixed product. However, this product suffers from (1) poor quality control and (2) it does not properly mate with Goal Zero, Solar Generator, 8mm Input Jack. Item #1. I received this product yesterday and started testing it right after I picked it up from the store. its packaging. The panel was unrolled, placed in bright early afternoon sunlight, and hooked up to a Fluke 77 DMM for testing. The DC output voltage displayed on the 2.5mm jack showed 18.26V when the cable was stationary/on the ground. However, I moved the cable and noticed that the voltage dropped to zero. I then set the output cable aside and noticed that the voltage returned to 18.26V. Subsequent flexing of the strain relief on the 2.5mm barrel connector showed that this action caused the connection to break depending on the angle of the bend or has been connected. Bad quality control. Item #2 Goal Zero uses a patented connector structure for 8mm barrel connectors for its solar generators. The underside of the 8mm Goal Zero connector is covered by a thicker plastic jacket with a retaining ring - see image of the Boulder 100 cable. This serves two purposes: 1. Provides a secure seal when connecting products such as the Yeti 1400, 3000, etc. there is no movement between the source of the connection and the destination, and; 2. Ensure products such as the Sherpa 100 do not loosen due to side to side movement of the barrel in the 8mm socket. So when the 8mm barrel adapter is connected to the Goal Zero product, you will see significant flexing. When used with lower wattage charging applications, around 10W, this is not a problem. However, if you are getting 50 watts from this panel and the connection is loose, it can cause problems such as power fluctuations/sparking at the connection source. The product was returned and the lesson I learned is that quality usually always comes at a higher price. Finally, Goal Zero products are designed to work together, run smoothly, and provide consistent performance across a variety of environments. Now I'm waiting to get my Nomad 28 Plus panels to try them out.
