Works great but doesn't last long

I bought this product and it's been working great for 3 weeks but unfortunately the weird circuit broke when I tried to unplug it from my laptop. and came right away! I can't believe I paid $20 for it and it's just cheaply made and I can't believe it was so broken what a rip off.
