Whatever you say I've had to cut out perfect circles on paper, photos and nylon paper and it all worked great. Works like a compass, just remember not to press too hard on the blade when cutting. Use it on a wooden surface, hold the material with your left hand while slowly rotating the compass with your right. Don't try to get your way the first time. Start gently to get a grove, then go around a few times, pressing a little harder each time. I had no issues with blade drift on my 2nd, 3rd, or 10th pass. You just need a steady hand. I've made hundreds of cuts and am still working on the second blade that cuts thick inkjet plates. If you're not in a hurry, this thing works great. I understand how difficult it would be to cut the fabric with this, but if you attach the material around the area you are cutting so it stays in place you should be able to cut it. Elastic fabrics may not be so much.
