Stays Hot Nice Materials Good Filters

After breaking my 5th glass french press decanter in the last 2 years I decided to give this stainless steel press a try. I've been using it daily for 3 weeks. . He exceeded all my expectations! I use freshly boiled water to make coffee or tea. Even after 30 minutes my drink is hot. Some heat is lost through the lid, but not through the sides (they don't feel hot, the lid feels warm). You can cover the lid with a rag or small tower to hold the heat even longer. Before making this press, I used standard glass carafes and wrapped them in a kitchen towel to keep them warm. This press eliminates that need and works well. The wooden handle and material looks just as nice as the pictures. It feels solid, yet looks elegant. The wooden handle is well screwed and fits snugly to the carafe; There are no unusual crevices or places where laundry residue can accumulate over time. Wooden parts hold up well after daily hand washing and dry relatively quickly. The metal braids can be screwed on well and are comparable in quality to a Bodum French Press, maybe even a little better thanks to the double braid. Internal liter /oz mark is easy to read and will not fade after 3 weeks of hand washing and use. This press seems to last for years. It's great both aesthetically and functionally.
