I tried the original version and they were too thick and uncomfortable. However, they are thinner and less conspicuous. Controls on the outside of the helmet allow for quick and easy control. The sound is clear and sounds good even at high volumes. Haven't used it for calls yet, only for music. I didn't charge the device with a battery either, but I can already see how good that would be for emergencies. To charge the device you need to connect the charging cable to the microphone that I hid in the helmet. I wish the charging port was outside of the controls just for easier access. In general I am satisfied with them compared to the original model. The seller was very responsive and attentive. Edit: 8/24/20 I finally got a call while I was on the bike. The call was clear and the other person could hear me with minimal background noise. They said they could hear my bike but it wasn't intrusive. i'm still happy
