I installed this on my Harbor Freight planer. It took a whopping 30 minutes including cutting the slab to measure the thickness. He cut the first cut within 0.003 of the specified value. I am asking anyone who can tell me why it is not cost effective and time saving to use these lunch box slicers. The best part is the first haircut. The roller stops passing and waits for contact with the cutting tool. Just turn on the microphone on the board and choose the first deletion. I had several choices for placement and ended up installing it (like most) to the right of the skirt. The block has great visual clarity. Indicates decimal and fractional magnitudes as you approach them, and decimal display only between fractions. I am seriously considering this manufacturer for my table saw. This is by far the nicest thing I've bought for my wood shop recently. This device puts you in full control of the plane, not its mercy. This makes many operations normally used after planing more accurate and time efficient. Here's how I use mine. I build my blade up to 3/4" for a stacking groove with no spacers and make a cut. Knowing dado stacks won't work without spacers I won't let that be a problem, I just hop on my planer and cut the board in perfect shape.These devices inspire confidence and opportunity!If you pay attention to the installation, the infeed table will work without interference.As you can see from the photos, the scale can be used if necessary without turning on the device.
