
I bought a 128G drive to use as a Page drive on my 2012 HP. I also use it for Windows ReadyBoost. For the price, if you have an open SATA port on your motherboard and an open SATA port on your power supply, this is an affordable way to speed up an old PC. You need to go into the BIOS settings and use the Boot Order tab to select the drive (it's called Lexar) to initialize it so Windows can recognize it. After Windows starts, go to the This PC control panel and the drive will show up in red. Click on it and you will be asked if you want to format the drive. Click Yes. After formatting, you will be asked if you want to use ReadyBoost on the drive. Select "Use this disk". Do not allocate a disk to ReadyBoost. To set it as a swap drive, go to Control Panel, select System, Advanced system settings, under Performance select Advanced, click the Change button in Virtual Memory, click the new disk , click System managed size at the bottom. Click on your old drives, then click No Paging File. And that's it.
