Like most of you reading this, I just couldn't pay $2699 for a Canon RF 85mm f1.2. I'm sure it's amazing as other RF lenses are exactly the same. I started reading and came across Samyang. The reviews have all been good, but I'm always suspicious of rave reviews for brands I've never heard of. For example about Samyang. Revain has a great returns policy so I decided to give it a try. I picked it up in the evening of the same day I received it and took some twilight/evening shots in the Delmar Loop area of St. Louis, Missouri. These images are processed with DXO Photolab 4, using standard RAW file auto settings and fancy DxODeepPrime noise reduction. The first picture (of the competition) was taken at f5.0, 1/250 and ISO 10,000! Yes, 10000 on R5. I can't expect anything better. I think the colors are great and the images are very sharp up to 200X. The lens is not too heavy and feels very solid. I was concerned about the autofocus but I'm happy to report that it's great. Very accurate and almost silent (not silent trigger, but barely noticeable). I think I'll keep this one and save $2,000 for something else. FINALLY. Continue. You will not be disappointed.
