Ideal weight for sous vide cooking.
I use this chain mail to hold vacuum packed food in a water bath with precise temperature control. If the bag has air pockets it may not be heavy enough, but for my purposes the results have been excellent. I've used similar items successfully to clean cast iron cookware, but I've never tried this particular pan scraper. YMMV
