I bought this antenna as a cheap way to connect my existing radio to mobile devices on 10m and 6m. SWR within acceptable limits with a well grounded, adjustable "trunk lip" bracket on the tailgate. It's nice to be able to work with a 6m repeater and a 10m and 6m simplex while driving. HOWEVER, it has an awkward habit of folding up during movement. During a 30-mile drive at speeds up to 60 mph, it folded up somewhere along the way (the radio was off, so I didn't know until I got out of the car). Others have written about this problem. I decided to go ahead and get one despite their warnings about this antenna. Now that I have confirmed the usefulness of 6m in mobile mode I will buy good low frequency Larsen NMO antennas for mobile use. This antenna converts to a grounded portable antenna for fixed use only. Verdict: It's great for stationary use, but as others have warned, the antenna will fold in when you move it.
