Received my DYMO LABELMANAGER 280 today! When reading reviews, first make sure you read the review for the RIGHT MARKING NAME you are planning to buy. All reviews for all labelers are on the same page, so be careful when considering reviews. FONTS. I've seen many people in other reviews expecting 20 different fonts on one labeller. The description states that "font styles" are NOT the same as the fonts like 100 that you can choose from in Microsoft Word. There are only 3 different fonts on the label maker: Basic, Fun, and Serif. You can also choose bold, italic, or underline, and the sizes are available in 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 pt. You cannot preview on screen before printing, only while printing. You can also print vertically. I posted a photo of examples of 3 different fonts. IN THE BOX - I received a labeller, a Dymo label cassette (black on white), a USB cable to print from a computer and an adapter to connect to the labeller and charging wall. The battery is NOT used to turn on the labeller. The labeler also had a protective film on the screen which was nice! Along with an instruction booklet. IMPORTANT! Before you even touch the labeler *** READ THE INSTRUCTIONS *** I feel like a lot of people made a mistake here and had issues with the labeler in other reviews because they read the brochure and the company's recommendations have not read . I posted a photo of the fact that every button on the label is also from the booklet. The brochure says the battery MUST come half charged (I didn't have that, but it didn't matter at all). When I put the battery in and tried to turn it on, I noticed that "Charging battery" came up, so I plugged it in and let it sit for about an hour. After that I turned it off and it turned on normally with a fully charged battery and started printing! Waste no tape as it appears to be a Brother brand and tape cartridges I think are the same. I actually ordered some colored tapes which cost $8 for the cartridge that comes with this labeler so I'm very happy to try them! Admittedly I've only had this one day so I'll update my review if anything changes, but I had trouble getting this product based on other reviews and concerns but decided to take a chance anyway. If you won't be using the labeler for a while, REMOVE THE BATTERY to keep it alive :) I hope others who are struggling like me find this review useful! I haven't tested it yet when I print from a computer because tomorrow we will receive our new one, so I will post this and update one by one. This labeler is a very decent size as seen in my photo, the keyboard feels good in my hand and isn't too heavy and also cuts a fairy tale very smoothly.
