Cool, but a product of a bygone era.
This is a great novelty from another era, a sort of ruler for measurements that seem more accurate than a tape measure. But it is not robust and is not suitable for long-distance measurements. I would advise any handyman to get one because it's cheap, vintage and the tools are cool. They're beautiful enough to be on display and will be a great conversation starter with guests. You're unlikely to use them regularly, if ever. But you never know when an odd tool might be perfect for one job or another.
