Review on Pearl IZUMi Leader Cycling Punch Sports & Fitness by Juan Axum

First of all - great road shoe. The quality of the material is very good (leather heel and breathable mesh/polyurethane upper that wraps around the foot). The shoe is more of a top-level soccer shoe than a fit-and-fit cycling shoe. The double Boa system really makes the shoe perfect. Extremely easy to use and set up, even while driving. Dual adjusters and the ability to adjust it in both directions make this shoe comfortable in all stages of riding (especially on long rides when your foot tends to swell, a few clicks on the dials and your feet will feel great again). In terms of stiffness, there is a slight flex in the shoe when pedaling, but this is extremely minimal and can actually result in a slight heel slippage along the flex of the sole. Which brings me to the biggest issue I have with this shoe, which is the heel design. The heel doesn't seem to lock in, so there's a slight heel-slip sensation when dismounting from the saddle or sprinting, which I wasn't able to fix without getting too tight on the boa to cut off circulation. It's very minor to be honest but can be a nuisance if someone is sensitive to it. Again, the fit is small, so go up a half size, as PI recommends. Overall great shoes!
