I love this mat. These are three sections of "grass" that are connected to each other. "Rough" cutting is great as the grain can be against or against you as the mat rotates. Medium density cut is typical of lush, dense grass on the fairway or edge. I suppose a skinny tight kite is an extremely tight position but I find it less than useful as it plays too hard. The big disadvantage is the imbalance between the height of your feet and the surface of the mat. You have to choke on your grip to adjust. I only see it as chipping/pitchmate. Full swing on such a small rug with legs on a separate tier just isn't practical. But it's a good practice mat for short games. I have mine on a weatherproof porch that meets a garden shredder net.
