UPDATE: Material breaks into the water! - Large Kettle, 2 (small) editions

Update: The bottom cover of this kettle will splinter and leak into the water! It started about a year after purchase and now (after almost 2 years of use) it's really bad; It makes the water cloudy after I try to clean it and there is a TON of floating stuff in the water. :( DO NOT RECOMMEND - THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL! (First photo is about a year after use, second two years.) --- This is a fantastic kettle, very stylish, clean looking, glass (clear) and better than Plastic). I've been using it for about 6 months and have (almost) no problems with it. Water boils well, shuts off automatically when done, fast enough and quiet enough. The blue light is pretty :) My two (minor) problems with this kettle: 1) the lid doesn't open far enough (even better if it comes off!) - this makes cleaning very difficult (my water leaves a lot of deposits , so clean at least once a week) and even capricious for filling (the faucet knocks on it). 2) The on/off and open/close buttons on the kettle should be opposite each other. The open button is at the top and the boil button is at the bottom - this is just counter-intuitive as the kettle is closed most of the time and you just want to quickly press the 'on' button in passing (but press the open button). button quite often instead). It's a minor issue, but a little annoying every time you open it instead of running it - hopefully the manufacturer will swap the position of the two functions in the next version. Otherwise this kettle is great!
