This was a replacement for my Microsoft Lifecam which I have had since around 2012. I was looking for something that would give me a sharper and clearer picture for my live podcasts. I envied other YouTubers who seemed to have Hollywood studio cameras. This little camera was definitely an upgrade over the Lifecam but I'm still not at the level I'd like BUT I think it's good as I can get it at this price point. What I really like about this camera is that you can turn off all the lights in your office and just use the ring light, which gives your background a perfect blackout and perfectly highlights your face. Although the quality looks better with some light in the background. When it's completely dark, he tends to constantly want to adapt and coloration is inconsistent. I wasn't sure about the durability on the Smart TV I use as a monitor, but no problem. Holds up great except when I kick the cord with my feet. I don't know how this is all going to end.
