I consider myself an amateur cinephile and demand to be immersed in the movies I watch with the best possible picture and sound quality. Over the years I've acquired a full Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound system which sounds fantastic when played back but to be honest as a father of two little girls I've never really played/rated it. Now it is the only product on the market. a market capable of processing and streaming true Dolby Atmos tracks in 7.1.4 through headphones. Sounds as good as my atmos 7.1.4 installation? No way! But that doesn't mean they sound bad for what they are. I have read reviews from others who claim that Dolby Atmos works just as well on Xbox Series X, but, honestly, they don't even compare. The only negative thing I have to say about the headphones is the price. For the money you're paying, I expected JVC to offer full HDMI 2.1 passthrough/eARC/VRR support, which isn't the case. That being said, the price might be steep, but it's definitely worth it for those looking for a discreet movie-watching solution. Look, you're buying these headphones to listen to Dolby Atmos without disturbing others, right? Then stop trying to skip videos and just send audio there! This is easily achieved with a good quality HDMI splitter, such as and movies through the plex. My simple setup looks like this: Shield Pro -> HDMI Splitter -> 1) Marantz+ Receiver 2) JVC Exofield (all with high quality HDMI cables). So I actually transmit the video signal to my Marantz receiver and to my TV via eARC. If you don't have a receiver, simply connect the splitter's HDMI port to your TV, which does the same thing. TLDR: Buy this if you can afford it and are dying to listen to Atmos tracks individually. Just make sure you save yourself the headache and don't try to transmit video signals. Use my HDMI splitter suggestion as above instead. Buy them if you can afford it and are dying to listen to atmos tracks individually.
