Much better than plastic
As a lubricant specialist in a car dealership, we used to sort out the plastic parts after about a month because someone inevitably cut the threads. Plastic doesn't like to recover and it becomes too easy to keep crossing threads. It will be difficult to do this. Even the color on the threads mostly stayed behind after three months and hundreds of uses. If you tend to accidentally cross threads I'd say this is definitely a great buy.
