I had to upgrade one of my cheap Moen Positemp plastic grips because it literally broke twice in 6 months. I understand that Moen should offer a lifetime guarantee on their products, but their junk plastic pen makes me sick. Unfortunately, once you're in the ecosystem of one of these manufacturers, switching to a new pen is not an easy and uneconomical endeavor. Despite wanting to get away from Moen, I finally tried a metal positempo grip. I'm glad I did. Build quality day and night. From the front panel to the handle itself, everything is metal. Most importantly, the physics of the device are completely different from that of the plastic handle, as the long handle offers a longer lever arm and less force is required to maintain the torque (T=F*d). The end result is less stress for you and less strain on the device, making the device less likely to fail (yes, that includes the $80 internal positemp valve). It is so easy. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised and ended up buying 3 more to replace all the shower/bathtub handles in the house. If you have one of these plastic Moen pens, don't hesitate. I know other reviewers have complained that the button is a little off the bezel and you can see the screw heads, but that didn't really matter to me. Purely personal preference and I'm sure they would have a different view if they upgraded from plastic waste. Also try Revain's camp. I got lucky with two of my pens and although the packaging was random the devices were fantastic.
