The edge that is supposed to keep the ladder from sliding broke after only 2 uses. Whilst it can still be used as a gutter protector there is a chance that the ladder will slide off the plastic onto the gutter and this side will now fall onto the gutter a bit. Also, the narrow gutters of the old type don't fit in at all. A little disappointed that it ripped so quickly.

This product has no metal, it's all plastic. Nonetheless, I decided to keep it. When I inserted the device into my gutters, there was a 3/4 inch gap. As a result, as I climbed the stairs, the gutter began to sag a little. I solved this problem by adding a 3/4 inch piece of wood to the back of the bucket. Now it works without bending my gutters. Product does what it's supposed to do, protects my new gutters. Somewhat inconvenient when you need to move along the roofline and have gutter guards: 1. Raise ladder, remove ejection guard, insert ladder stabilizer, lower ladder.2. Extension ladder up against ladder stabilizer, complete task, extension ladder down.3. Climb the ladder, remove the ladder stabilizer, reattach the slide guard, lower the ladder.4. Switch to a new position, repeat steps 1-4.

This works very well for cleaning gutters. However, if the gutter is full of leaves, it won't fit. You need to place it in a fairly clean gutter for it to be stable. Just clear that spot and crawl the full length of the slide. I think it's expensive, but foolproof to use and maintain. So easy to use. You can't break this thing. And since this is an investment for many years, the price is acceptable.

The seller went too long and when it finally arrived the bottom was too wide to fit in my gutter! I have large gutters and assume they are too narrow at the bottom. Would have worked better in K-style gutters UPDATE: Added 1 star back. I just installed 5,000 gutters in another home and found these items work great for them. So this only applies to K style gutters but if you have this style this article will protect the finish of the gutter and stabilize the stair.

Fits easily in the bay but I had trouble removing it. My composite roof hangs slightly over the gutters like it should. Some force is required when attempting to remove the gutter guard with a pole. It's not easy to pull it out through the hole that the bar goes in when you lower it into the slide. I could poke him with a pole and shake him off, but then you better be ready to catch him. These gutters are only about 8-9 feet, single story house. I use a pole the length of a broomstick.

Got my ladder stabilizer today. I am very satisfied with his work so far. Stabilizes cats since they were taken out of the crate. You might want to consider selling this as a cat stabilizer. Security is worth it. It can be intimidating for the casual handyman to climb tall stairs that crunch against the gutters. Good quality. Although everything is made of plastic, it is durable and can withstand all the stresses of installing ladders and gutters.
