Review on NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB ๐Ÿ“ถ 2.0 Adapter โ€“ High-Speed 54 Mbps by Mark Adlesh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've used several of these over the years.

My hobby for the past 12 years of retirement has been bringing old computers (335 to date) to life and giving them away free to underprivileged children and their families. As more and more school systems adopt the Internet, WI-FI has become almost a necessity for the computers these students use. Lately I've needed a reliable, inexpensive key with good range as most of the computers I've rebuilt never had that capability. The different versions of the NETGEAR WG111 that have been offered over the years were just what I needed. I've never had a problem with any that I've personally kept and used, and haven't had a complaint about any of the ones I've given away. The included CD managed to make every WI-FI branded computer I've installed it capable of. Plus, the extra-long cable that comes with the NETGEAR WG111 lets you "findโ€ the best spot for a signalโ€”just like the "bunny earsโ€ days of TV. Using a parabolic reflector with cable and dongle really helps boost the signal for any router of any brand. I found the bowl to be about 16 inches in diameter. with a depth of about 4 inches, it allows the focus to be located approximately on a line crossing the mouth of the bowl; So just run a piece of tape through the center of the hole and attach the key to it in the center. The best reflector I've found so far is a curved lid from a Kochwack. A simple way to find the focus of your reflector dish is: F = diameter times 16 times C. F is the focus. diam. is the distance through the center of the bowl hole, and C is the distance from the center of the hole to the bottom of the inside center of the curved "bowl" - a parabolic reflector. I have absolutely nothing to do with or have anything to do with NETGEAR----only my intention is to give credit where appropriate. I wish you the same good results as I do. and C is the distance from the center of the hole to the bottom of the inside center of the curved "plate" - the parabolic reflector. I have absolutely nothing to do with or with NETGEAR - just mine to give credit where credit is due.
