Netgear wg111 USB wireless connection

The wg111 wireless connection is a handy little device. We use it to connect our laptop to our WLAN router in the next room, which is about 10 meters away. Communication is reliable, although not very fast. The only real downside to the wg111 is that it gets pretty hot, so it's probably speed limited. Powerful WiFi in a compact package

I bought the NETGEAR WG111 USB 2.0 wireless adapter when I needed to move my computer to another room in the house and didn't want to run a cable from my wireless router to my computer. I bought one of these for my two grandchildren about a year ago with the same results. They were able to connect to their WiFi router from another room. My hobby for the past 12 years of retirement has been bringing old computers (335 to date) to life and giving them away free to underprivileged children and their families.
