Review on NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB πŸ“Ά 2.0 Adapter – High-Speed 54 Mbps by Samiran Pusarla

Powerful WiFi in a compact package

I bought the NETGEAR WG111 USB 2.0 wireless adapter when I needed to move my computer to another room in the house and didn't want to run a cable from my wireless router to my computer. I bought one of these for my two grandchildren about a year ago with the same results. They were able to connect to their WiFi router from another room. In both cases, the devices worked perfectly, with no installation difficulties. The software is user-friendly and works. What else can you ask? After experimenting with the place, which the adapter is attached to - it comes with a short cord, but I added a 10ft USB extension cord - you can maximize the signal strength. I went from about 4 bars (out of a possible eight) to six by simply moving the adapter about 10 feet closer to my wireless router. I'm getting about 17 Mbps on a 20 Mbps connection to my cable ISP. The device itself is fairly small - about the size of a flash drive - and has a blue light that flashes to show traffic. Overall, I give this adapter five stars for its low speed. price and great features. I'm getting about 17 Mbps on a 20 Mbps connection to my cable ISP.
