I've had this for 8 months now and use it for slicing potatoes (not carrots - they're too chewy), chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes etc. BUT - VERY IMPORTANT: I recommend purchasing glove blade guards as the included food grab doesn't work very well and leaves unwanted holes in the food. The gloves protected my hands and allowed me to fully chop or julienne most or all of the food. I made the mistake of not using the guard, even with the grapple, and almost every time I paid for it in blood.
