Review on πŸ”¬ High-Performance TDS PPM Conductivity Meter by Russ Mashlan

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Thought I had a winner - ended up being another piece of junk

Update 02/20/19: So I thought I had a good counter. I even wrote a drop below. I reject all of this. If you want a good PH or EC/PPM meter you need to spend some money and NOT buy what looks like any of the others for the same price. If you want a good EC/PPM meter, you should be prepared to shell out $50 or more. Don't waste your time and money with one of these cheap pieces of junk. I am pretty sure that anyone who gave this item a 4 or 5 star rating will now regret it. They are short lived, are not recalibrated and cannot be trusted. Spend your money and save yourself the headache. Don't listen to this nonsense I wrote earlier. If so, I apologise. . If you read the reviews of almost any inexpensive TDS tester on Revain, you will see good and bad reviews - without exception. So be prepared to send one or two back before you get one that works properly. This is my second TDS meter and the first was not accurate when tested with the 342 PPM calibration solution which I highly recommend you use. This one showed 340 PPM, which is pretty accurate for my needs. My first reading was below 300 PPM. I plan to check this out from time to time as PPM is very important to me. You can offset a few PPMs, but when they're gone, it's best to just buy another one, or dump your money on a lab-quality model that will set you over $100. And check it often so you know when it fails. It would be great if you could recalibrate them, but at this price I haven't found a single model with this feature. Inexpensive models look and function the same for the most part and are made in China. This one is from a different manufacturer than the first one I bought and looks pretty much the same. I suspect they are probably all made in the same factory. However, this one works great and I'm happy with the purchase. So yes, five stars, with one of the stars for me and patience. My advice. buy one and test it and if it works great, if not send it back and try again. Or go to your local hydro shop and pay big bucks. Oh yes, I'm doing the same with a purchased pH meter. One was shipped while the other was on the way. I'm just cheap!
