This is our second such gate. In our old house we only needed one, but now we have one each at the top and bottom of our stairs. They're simple in design, but to be honest, they make great baby gates. Our eldest daughter (5.5 years old) can open and close with ease while keeping our very busy 13 month old daughter safe and off her favorite staircase. Installation was fairly easy, with some ingenuity mounting the bottom ones to the narrow spindles on our railing. (Hooray for screeds!). We also like that this screws into the wall. The tension on the stairs with two active kids just makes me nervous. Delivery was great too. He arrived a day early. no less on bank holiday weekends!
