Description of ๐Ÿšง Evenflo Top of Stairs Extra Tall Gate in Tan Wood: Secure & Stylish Solution

Four point mounting hardware makes installation a cinch. Gate swing open: one or both directions making it convenient for high traffic areas. Removable Swing Stop: prevents gate from swinging over stairs. One hand release: easy for parents, but two actions to unlock make it too difficult for children. Great for pets, too. Accommodates openings 30 - 48 inches.

Excellent quality and fast delivery!

This is our second such gate. In our old house we only needed one, but now we have one each at the top and bottom of our stairs. They're simple in design, but to be honest, they make great baby gates. Our eldest daughter (5.5 years old) can open and close with ease while keeping our very busy 13 month old daughter safe and off her favorite staircase. Installation was fairly easy, with some ingenuity mounting the bottom ones to the narrow spindles on our railing. (Hooray for screeds!). We alsoโ€ฆ

Overall Good - Door and Stair Gates

We received these gates to replace the metal gates we previously had. Wood is good because it "folds" less. So you can open it and slide it back in without worrying about the laundry basket snagging on it. The gate also comes completely off the bracket, allowing you to move or remove the furniture when not in use. Both are strengths. However, there are a few downsides. #1 You have to lift the gate a bit to get it in the hole to latch it. If you lift too much the back of the gate will fall outโ€ฆ

The best kids gate for gates and gate extensions

This gate has many features that make it very useful. I have installed many of them in my own and others' homes. First, when properly installed, it can be manipulated with one hand. Second, it's a snap to take apart and put back together, which is a great benefit at the grandparents' house or anytime. You need to move a large piece of furniture with it, you just don't want to look at it, etc. Third, when the corridor/stairs/door is not closed, it will fold up and take up less wall space. Rubโ€ฆ

Stair Top Safe

We've tried several goals including pressure based goals and this is my favorite. Pressure based gates are misleading. Most say they can be used at the top of stairs and they can but shouldn't unless you screw them to the wall. There is no way to avoid holes in the walls at the top of the stairs if you want to be safe. The advantages of these gates over most others are: 1) They open the full width of the hallway/staircase (minus an inch or two). for the hinge and latch) - others are muchโ€ฆ

Good goal, with modifications it would be better.

I have been using 3 of these gates for about 18 months now. Anyone who has stairs in their home should make sure they use the metal security gates at the top. Hanging gates are just pointless because if a child pushes them, the gates can fall off and both roll down the stairs. . I chose this particular goal after much research and the frustration of not being able to find a goal with the perfect score. I'm very glad I went with them. I installed one at the top and bottom of my basement stairsโ€ฆ

Difficult to open and close, weak, there are better gates

I bought 3 children's gates in the last year, so I can tell you a little about them. The first gate I bought worked great but it was a tension model and now I was looking for it for the 'top of the stairs'. As you may have read, you need to drill through hardwood to ensure that one day your child doesn't push too hard and fall down the stairs. Also, the models at the top of the stairs open fully instead of having a small gate in the middle, and it makes more sense for the top of the stairsโ€ฆ

  • No performance

Risk of puncture good for safety

I have mixed opinions on this gate. It's easy to install, just make sure you use long screws to at least screw it into the wall stud. The gate is easily removed by releasing the latch, simply lift and fold to one side. You may need to put a rubber stopper on the doorknob so it doesn't damage the wall it's pressed against. This gate replaced the same but slightly shorter due to dog play and rod breakage - lasted 18 years with kids and dogs so quite a good life. Now we mainly use it to keep theโ€ฆ
