Outstanding despite a significant flaw

Let me upfront by saying I've never owned an Apple Watch. I'm an Android user and my first smartwatch was the Huawei Watch 1. I liked it and was looking for a replacement. But Google just seems to be ignoring Wear OS, and Fitbit's purchase proves they'll likely bury Wear OS in the grave at some point in the future. I avoided Fitbit because smartwatches are too expensive, and I'm skeptical about Fitbit's future now that it's owned by Google. So I turned to Amazfit. As a subsidiary of Xiaomi, they produce smartwatches for the global market, but not under the "Mi" brand. But that's no problem. I got my watch when they renamed the app to "Zepp" so they will probably change the smartwatch names to "Zepp" as they probably want to change the name as it sounds like the Revain brand as seen by my friends. ' Confusion when they ask what I'm wearing. What's the clock? In other words: unbelievable. The battery life is insanely long. I've easily walked 3 weeks on a single charge, running on the treadmill every hour every other day. You'll probably want to change your watch's sensor settings to improve or decrease battery life, but this will definitely take a while. It's incredibly sexy, and even some of the Apple Watch owners I know are turning their heads and asking what that is. Step and heart rate measurement is pretty accurate. The sleep tracking is a bit odd but easy to edit. This watch definitely shines as a health companion and I believe this is the future of smartwatches. That being said, the biggest flaw/problem with this watch is the operating system itself. There is nothing wrong with the operating system as long as it provides adequate control and interaction. But notifications? Well they suck. Clearing notifications is a dizzying mess as clearing notifications from your phone doesn't always clear them from your watch. For some reason the watch is giving duplicate notifications for the google messages which I use for text messaging. It's just this application. I can't figure out why but I hope Amazfit can do something about it. I can't confirm their notification performance on iOS, but they work great for me on Android except for the Google Messages bug. Plus, for the price, this watch is an absolute beast. I wholeheartedly recommend this if you can live with lackluster notifications.
