Read the instructions at least a little first. Depending on the operating mode (MIG/MMA/MIG flux-cored wire), you must plug the jumper cable into the correct connector on the receiver. I didn't and thought the MIG function wouldn't work until the seller gently reminded me to read the manual. Very glad it works. With the few bullets I've used, it seems a lot handier than my cheap iron core MIG machine. Much better at low feeds. A nice hiss that was seldom matched in an old car. It also works well with MMA. Haven't done any real work with it yet, but for now I just have high expectations.
