This brand new filter had the filter status indicator on the humidifier about halfway down, just above the service mark had to .spare. The humidifier just didn't humidify very well with this new filter. It hasn't even been 2 months of limited use and the sensor is all down and not wetting anymore. The filter still looks like new, but doesn't absorb any water at all. The quality is definitely not what it used to be and that's probably why this type of humidifier isn't very popular anymore. V750 which I bought from Target. So far I like the new humidifier, seems much more effective. The only downside is that heated humidifiers require more maintenance with heating element cleaning/descaling and slightly higher power consumption. in your water, including microorganisms growing in your humidifier water, then buy an ultrasonic humidifier. Cool mist evaporative humidifiers that use these filters have been more convenient since you only have to replace the disposable filter instead of cleaning, but it's too expensive when I have to change the filter every month and even then the performance leaves a lot to be desired.
