Review on Tetra HT Submersible Aquarium Heater: Efficiently Regulate Temperature with Electronic Thermostat by Wendy Kennedy

THIS HEATING WILL NOT WORK FOR A LONG TIME!

This could easily have killed my cock! I bought this heater to keep my 3 gallon tank warm. I followed the instructions as for setting up the aquarium as this is my first time caring for a fish. At first glance it is striking that there is no switch or light to indicate that the device is even working! Everything seemed fine on the first day. I haven't bought a thermometer yet, so I checked the temperature of the water by hand. My crescent betta seemed to be behaving normally. By the second day I noticed that he was starting to build foam nests so I just assumed he was fine because he was still eating. On day 3 I decided I didn't really like the colors of this fish so I gave it to my husband and decided to buy myself a rose petal betta and some live plants. I didn't check the water temp that day but I noticed my fish weren't eating as well as they used to, but I decided to give them some exercise anyway. I flipped the switch on my surge protector to turn off the heater, light, bubbler, and filter. After setting everything up to my liking, I decided it was too early to put my new fish in his home and maybe I should wait a full 24 hours before moving him in. I decided to wait until the next day. So on day four I decided to stick my hand in a 3 gallon tank to move some gravel around to cover the roots of one of my live plants. WATER IS FROZEN! I stick my finger in my half gallon tank where I put my half moon betta and the water is warmer where there is no heater at all! So now my bettas are stuck in the cup and half gallon tank until I get a new heater! PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!
