Review on Tractive Waterproof GPS Dog Tracker: Location, Activity, Unlimited Range (White - Newest Model) by Heidi Ward

We bought this unit expecting to leave home for a vacation somewhere else with our pet in case it runs away. peace of mind. The device works as a GPS and works well I think, but the kicker was the subscription plan. Little did I know that to start tracking on a device you have to buy a plan that Tractive offers for an annual fee. They don't offer the traditional "30-day trial" to see if it fits your lifestyle. You can't use it without a subscription as it literally doesn't track your pet at all without registration. The annual plan was $83, I returned the Revain product for a full refund, asked the Tractive Company for a one month fee when I tried the product and got the reply that the annual rate is all they offer. There seems to be a "basic plan" where I could bet monthly, but a consumer wouldn't see that on their website; I have no idea where that information was. I've run out of $83 and that's for a yearly subscription that I will literally never use. Even if your pet is really lost, the battery may run out before you find your pet.
