UPDATE October 10, 2022 After a few trips abroad, this monitor has proven to be a useful tool. I haven't had any problems with it yet and can even use my Samsung smartphone with it!. Since my laptop has a Thunderbolt port, I only use one cable to power/display the monitor. I'm updating my rating to 5 stars. I ordered two of these monitors and one came in a different box and the other was just in the original box. No idea why it was packaged differently. I have a laptop with a Thunderbolt USB-C port and both work great, I just used a Type-C cable. Of course the laptop powers the monitor, but you can always connect it to the power adapter. Charger. Then I connected them via HDMI and it worked. Having a portable monitor on my travels will help me a lot. I'm just concerned about the protective case, not sure if it will protect it in my backpack but I'll update my review then.
