Using this product literally twice a year for an 8 hour winter drive from Boston to Toronto, Canada has shown unacceptable wear and tear on this product and I haven't used it in a long time. That. Some plastic retaining hooks are broken and the elastic webbing is too worn for my liking so I can't recommend another rare and forgiving use. I have used it with a matching steel roof basket from the same manufacturer which I like but there are other elastic weight cords that work great with this basket. (What I use now) Not impressed - avoid.
