Review on 6 Quart Aluminum Stovetop Popcorn Popper by Cook N Home - Silver by Keisha Wright

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The swivel mechanism first failed, then failed completely

Too bad. Initially I was happy with this popper, especially as it was a lot cheaper than the brand I previously owned. However, I noticed from the start that the swivel mechanism was not working properly. The gears were caught and held every four to five revolutions and then continued to rotate with a jerk. I found it annoying but the popcorn was good so I decided to live with it. Then, after about ten runs, the gearbox just stopped working. It's still possible to make popcorn by shaking the whole pan, but if I'm going to do that, why buy a popcorn maker at all and not just use the pan. I need to replace this thing and pay a few bucks more for a machine that actually works.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Infinitely stiff
