Magnetic mount

I bought this mount for my iPhone XS which comes in a Pelican case. At first I was concerned that the case would be too "heavy" to use with this mount, but I took a risk. Since version 2 had two (2) magnets, I felt it made a big difference if my case could be used. It fits snugly and I can feel the pulling/holding force when I attach and detach the phone. The phone slips/slips sideways when I'm on a very bumpy road, but when it's a well paved road I have no problems at all. I think if I had a lighter case the slipping would have been virtually eliminated. I attached the large metal plate of the two (2) to the bottom of the case where the charging cable goes. I did this as I was planning on trying wireless charging in the future and needed to keep the back of the phone free of obstructions as much as possible. I have yet to try this feature and don't know if it will prevent my large metal plate from being placed. Because I placed a large plate at the bottom of the case, the phone's portrait orientation is not as stable due to the leverage and weight of the phone and case. If you want to stand the phone horizontally I would recommend placing a metal plate in the middle of the case/phone. Not a problem for me, as my cell phone is usually upright. The ventilation clips and the lock are secured. The plastic material is thick and appears to be quite durable. In the few weeks that I've owned this mount, I haven't had any issues with the vent mount (installed on a 2018 Toyota 4Runner, far left, driver's side) or with its stability. Magnets affecting the operation of the phone are zero. . Rare earth magnets are used so they won't affect electronics or demagnetize things. Overall, I highly recommend this mount to anyone looking for a phone mount solution. I was thinking of going with a bassinet but I'm very glad I chose the magnetic route. The phone turns on and off in seconds and is extremely minimal.
