This helmet is perfect for an 8 year old. The fit is comfortable, the helmet is secure, the straps and buckle are well made with no sign of weakness. The only downside is cosmetic; the red cap is not properly attached/glued to the helmet. It's split into a few areas, and while it's not a security issue, it was something that was clearly noticeable upon closer inspection. The visor is a nice addition that will protect your eyes from the sun while riding. The size chart is accurate, just make sure you measure correctly and order accordingly. Overall this is a great product with a minimum of complaints.
